Kirby kirby!

Ok i am not into gums but this was something new to be honest, because you can mix and get new tastes apart from just putting one in your mouth!
Oh and the most delicious one was that orange star recipe, it tastes like the medicine drinks in japan, we do not have medicine as drinks in our country so it was a new experience for me! And somehow i like to taste some medicine (i know it is strange) so no doubt i fell for this taste too.

Monaka 最中

Remember wafers we eat and they usually had chocolate cream inside right?
This is Monaka, a bless that japanese people made for chestnut lovers hehe. I personally like chestnuts so much. So for me, it was already a win win. But then i found that it also has red beans (azuki) inside... Oh i like it. Somehow, i keep getting more lightly sweetened tastes from these traditional snacks. I prefer you to try traditional sweets first to know the fact that they are actually better than modern japanese sweets in my opinion.

Pie no Mi パイの実

Oh sweet buttery little pie, you stole my heart! I could not stop myself eating the whole package in a few minutes. You can not stop eating once you start!

Each little pie has some cocoa cream inside that makes me remember hazelnut smell. It is very crunchy and buttery so this little pie is a blessing for your snack time.

They chip off a little but worth cleaning the oddments! I heard there are other versions that has different fillings too. Will try if i get a chance!

甜纳豆 Sweet Beans

When it comes to Japanese Traditional sweets i am always getting excited. Maybe cause people in past ate these too. So thankful for my friend sent me a bunch of these sweet colorful beans.

So for each color:
Red Beans: 'Azuki'
Red Kidney Beans: 'Kintoki Mame'
Sweetened Green Peas: 'Uguisu Mame'
White Lupine Bean: 'Shirohana Mame'

I haven't seen any white lupines to be honest. Each of them tastes almost same. Lupine beans makes me remember eating sweet chestnuts for some reason. It's not too sweety which i love the most. If you get a chance, try to taste and find out beans can be sweet just like i did. It's more healthy than bunch of chemicals i guess. The best is to have it on your tea time.

Kit Kat made with Ruby cocoa beans

What do you think about Pink Chocolate? Lovely? Unhealthy? or Insane?

Well, I find it lovely. If you are a fan of Kit Kat then this is a ''you should try'' and way more a better taste than the usual one. The velvet texture of Ruby chocolate is what i am talking about. So sad the fact it is limited in Turkey.Whenever some limited stuff comes into my town, they become sold out in a short time. At least I am proud of trying for once. So I could take some pictures and post it in my blog.

Instead of the original one, this has a hashtag says ''mybreak''

Hagi Yaki 萩焼

Hagi Yaki (萩焼) is a type of Japanese pottery traditionally originated from the town of Hagi, Yamaguchi, in the former Nagato Province. In the period of Edo, The Mori Clan became daimyōs of Choshu Domain and they built Hagi Castle at the foot of Mt. Shizuki in 1608. Since then, Hagi developed as the political center of Choshu for over 250 years.

The Mori clan  (毛利氏 Mōri-shi) was a samurai clan. Hagi potteries were a part of tea ceremonies for the samurai clan of Mori, dating from 1604 when two Korean potters were brought to Hagi by Lord Mori Teremuto. The local feudal lord of Hagi area, had appointed potters in a castle town of Matsumoto to create Hagi wares for his personal tea ceremonies. Potters began to run their own independent businesses after the Meiji Restoration. The tradition of tea ceremonies and tea houses continue today.

The beauty of Hagi Yaki comes from not only its earthy colors but also for the glaze. The translucent beige glaze is draw out the natural, deep colors of the clay. Over time, a Hagi Yaki user might notice the color of the glaze getting darker. This is naturally as slightly porous surface absorbs the tea residues, maturing over time. I own one in my house.

うまい棒 Umaibo

In the old times they say, うまい棒もう死んでいる (umaibo mo shindeiru), just kidding. Whenever i see this snack it reminds me that funny script.

Takoyaki, Cheese, Corn Pottage

Thanks to heavy rain and a huge traffic jam, i had difficulties to get my post after an examination of community interpreting, which wanted me to spend much effort than i expected. After walking 20 minutes and getting all wet, i got my parcel from post office. So i can about what these tastes like:

  • Takoyaki: This really tastes like ketchup with some spice. After you eat it, the spice burns your tongue a little, but not that much. I give it an 8/10

  • Cheese: This is really how your foot smells like, pure cheese waited for few years in the inn so smells really heavily, i guess our cheese puffs are better than this. Still, if you really like heavy smells go for it. I give it a 6/10

  • Corn Pottage: This is my fav. It tastes like real corn pottage and has little spice to make it more tasty. You smell the corn whenever you open the package, it smells a lot, even so i like the smell of corn.  I give it a 10/10
